Common questions

What file format does the app use?

Structured Outliner uses the .lst format, the same format used by MemPad on Windows. Files are portable and can be opened in a text editor.

How do I sync between devices?

Store your .lst file in iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, or any Files-compatible provider. Open it from there on each device. The app works with whatever sync service you already use.

How do I restore a backup?

Use the menu in the top-right corner and choose Restore from Backup. The app writes a .bak file before every save.

How do I restore a Pro purchase on a new device?

Use the menu in the top-right corner and choose Restore Purchases.

What is MemPad?

MemPad is a lightweight hierarchical note organizer for Windows that has been around since the early 2000s. It stores everything in a single portable .lst file. Structured Outliner uses the same format, so existing MemPad files open directly on your iPhone without any conversion. You can find MemPad by Horst Schaeffer at https://www.horstmuc.de/wmem.htm.
